What is a Notary Public
A notary serves as an impartial witness to the signing of key documents. An official signature and seal signifies that the parties involved are who they say, confirms signers understand what they are signing, and ensures state laws are being followed. Notaries act as a form of protection for the signers of important documents by reducing the possibility of fraud and reinforcing the veracity of documents in court.
